The F&H Racing Team has grown gradually, starting in the European series for a couple of years before lining up riders in selected GPs. This season, for the first time, they will enter three riders in the FIM MX2 world series with two podium contenders and a talented Spanish hopeful.
 
Britain Adam Sterry and Australian Jed Beaton joined the team last winter, and have each scored top five results in the past before signing with the F&H team. Already with Kawasaki last season, Sterry has fully recovered from the knee injury he sustained during the Grand Prix of Europe in Valkenswaard; the Brit has signed with F&H for the next two seasons – his final ones in the MX2 class as he will turn 23 on September 19 next year – and has already posted some strong results with a fourth position at Hawkstone Park and a fifth at Lacapelle, two of the most important pre-season races.
 
Jed Beaton was the first rider to secure a podium for the team this season, with a third position at Lacapelle. Involved last season in the European championship the young Australian surprised many people when he achieved a podium result during the final round of the 2017 World Championship in what was only his fourth race at this level. Third rider of the team, Spaniard Ruben Fernandez will race for the fourth consecutive season with F&H and, after three European campaigns - one in the 125 and two in the EMX250 in which he finished third last season - he will enter the World Championship just a few days after turning 19.
 
Adam Sterry: “The pre-season has gone really well for me; since I had surgery to my knee last April I’ve been working hard with the physio and I'm now back to 100%.  My recovery from the injury was positive and I’ve been training since July instead of November so we went into the off-season a lot better than expected. I’m really happy with the team as they’re working very hard and we had a solid off-season, no mistakes so far and we’re now looking forward to Argentina and the first race. We won't do anything crazy - the season will be long- but Argentina is one of my favourite tracks and I’ll be looking forward to doing well there and get two solid results.”
 
Jed Beaton: “I’ve felt relaxed leading into 2018 after a nice off-season so I’m feeling ready to go, just really excited to go racing again and to enter the World Championship with Kawasaki and team F&H. I started riding again at the beginning of November, went home to Australia for one month and ended up sorting a bike out so I had two weeks riding there before I came back to Europe and continue to train and test with the team my KX250F. Concerning my expectations, I just want to see where I’m at, then build and take it from there. You can always have expectations leading up to the season but you never really know how realistic they are until after the first few rounds.”
 
Ruben Fernandez: " I’m not as physically prepared as I would like to be so we took the decision with the team to postpone my GP debut. I’ve been working hard with Marc de Reuver; he has helped me a lot with my riding and the goal this season will be to score some top ten results as I know my speed is good enough. I’d like to thanks the Fasé family who have always been behind me since I came to live in Holland and who have given me the opportunity to join the GPs this season.”
 
Steve Guttridge, KME racing manager: « The team has come such a long way in a short time! I expect that their riders - Adam, Jed and Ruben - will exceed all expectations this season and the team themselves are doing a fantastic job in giving them the best foundations already to achieve that.”
 
Harrie Van Hout, F&H team coordinator: “We’re all looking forward to getting the new season started. The whole team has been working really hard over the winter-time as we moved into a new workshop and we have two new riders in the team and some new partners. Pre-season testing and races have been going well; we know now where we are with the bikes and the speed of the riders. As Ruben is not ready yet to race, he will join the series at round two in Valkenswaard. We’ve no real expectations for Argentina. We know it’s a long season and a lot can happen; we just hope we can achieve some good results with the team during the season.”
