Herbreteau signs with Monster Energy Kawasaki and VHR

French hopeful David Herbreteau has signed a 3 years deal with Kawasaki, and will race in the EMX2 Championship with team VHR Kawasaki this season.

Former French champion in the 65, 85 and 125 classes, David Herbreteau is one of the most talented French kids. Winner this season twice in the European 125 series, the 17 years old rider from Vendee was dominant in the French Junior series, claiming his third national title after the 65cc in 2009 and the 85cc in 2012. Fourth of the European 125 championship, David will move in the EMX2 class on a Kawasaki KXF250. “I got pretty good results last season, even if I missed some consistency to get a final podium in the E125, and I’m pleased to sign with Kawasaki for the next three seasons. I’ve already been testing the KXF250, and I feel comfortable on this bike; I know that I have a lot of work to be competitive in the EMX2, but that’s not a real problem. I already changed my riding style as you don’t need to be more aggressive with a four stroke, and since several weeks now I’m working with a physical trainer” explained David who turned seventeen in December. 2014 will be a learning year for David, who will also enter the French series. “The French Elite series is also part of my program, to get more experience and exposure. It’s a good program, and normally I will also race the French GP,” added David who gets the support of Jean Jacques Luisetti.
David will race this season with team VHR, but we’ll provide him a complete support. He will have the same material as our factory riders, and the plan is to have him in the MX2 team in the future. We have a three years deal with him, and depending of his results he could join the MX2 team in 2016. I would like to thank all the sponsors helping our team since many years” explained Monster Energy Kawasaki MX2 Racing Team owner, who wants to prepare the future and will line up three factory riders (Jordi Tixier, Dylan Ferrandis and Thomas Covington) and one support rider (David) next season. Bruno Verhaeghe, owner of team VHR, is delighted to welcome David in his squad. “We are very pleased to welcome David, who will race the EMX2 series alongside Alexis Verhaeghe and Lucas Imbert, and I’d like to thanks Jean Jacques Luisetti, Gerard Valat and Kawasaki Europe who all joined forces to make this deal possible.” The first race of David and his new team mates will be the International Motocross of Valence, on February 14th and 15th.
