Like Kawasaki’s top motocross machines, the bold, functional design reflects the race-winning potential of these models. Factory-inspired touches like the shrouds, black rims, and green alumite suspension adjusters reinforce the KX family image. A new number plate, front fender, and fork guards create a modern front-end look that completes the updated styling.

A sturdy perimeter frame, designed to harness the engine’s power, offers the advantages of strength and torsional rigidity, allowing riders to push hard on the track. A longer head pipe increases front-end rigidity, while weight reduction across multiple components contributes to weight savings.

Medium-compound ODI Lock-On Grips offer excellent grip feel, while their screw-type fastening system greatly facilitates the task of swapping grips.  

Riders can choose between two engine displacements—84 cm3 and 112 cm3—based on their skill level. For models equipped with the 84 cm3 engine, a choice of wheel sizes accommodates a range of riders. For 2026, theKX112 and KX85/85 L offer a roomier rider triangle, wider handlebar, greater ERGO-FIT adjustability, and a host of high-grade, big-bike-style ergonomic components designed for enhanced control and comfort.

Dunlop’s latest tyres improve on the performance of their predecessors, Geomax MX33, in a number of areas: increased traction, increased brake grip, increased cornering grip, improved mud-shedding ability, more effective slide control, and better front-end feel.

A new aluminium Renthal Fatbar contributes to weight reduction and improved shock absorption. The handlebar is paired with ODI Lock-On grips, offering excellent grip feel. In addition, newly designed footpegs—wider in the front-rear direction—provide excellent grip, superb feel, and facilitate weighting the pegs.

The front fork features larger-diameter Ø 43 mm inner tubes and now includes rebound damping adjustability. At the rear, a new shock offers full adjustability. On the KX112 and KX85 L, revised linkage delivers 305 mm of wheel travel—on par with that of Kawasaki’s full-size KX models.

A larger Ø 240 mm front disc paired with the same caliper body and master cylinder used on the KX250 offers stronger braking force, enhanced durability, and improved controllability. At the rear, a larger ø220 mm disc and reduced lever play contribute to more precise brake control.

A robust perimeter frame delivers the strength and torsional rigidity needed to harness the engine’s full power, giving riders the confidence to push hard on the track. Complementing the frame are new high-rigidity front forks and a long-stroke rear suspension, along with a powerful braking system. Built with the same “Built to Win” spirit that defines the full-size KX models, the new machine is engineered to give young racers a competitive edge.

Riders can choose from two available wheel sizes: the KX112 and KX85 L feature 19” front and 16” rear wheels; the KX85 is equipped with a 17” front and 14” rear.

To suit different rider skill levels, two displacement options are available: 84 cm3 and 112 cm3. Designed to deliver both ample power across the rev range and strong top-end performance, both engines offer winning potential in highly competitive classes.

Minimalist bodywork, flat tank and slim, flat seat were designed to facilitate moving around on the bike.  

The handlebar grips were moved 50 mm forward and widened by 35 mm. The footpegs were lowered by 10 mm. The larger rider triangle and wider handlebar create more room for active body movement.
