After a recent operation on his injured right hand David Salom (KRT SBK Evo) will be out to maintain his championship lead in the Evo rankings at his home round but there are multiple other entries on Ninja ZX-10R machines in with a chance of scoring good points.
After Salom, French rider Jeremy Guarnoni (MRS Kawasaki) is next best Kawasaki rider in the Evo standings, with three rounds - including Jerez - left to run.
Italian Luca Scassa (Kawasaki Team Pedercini) is joined by his team-mate and compatriot Alessandro Andreozzi in the Pedercini squad while Australian Sheridan Morais (Iron Brain Kawasaki SBK Team) joins up again with Bryan Staring (Iron Brain Kawasaki SBK Team) in an effort to enjoy their best performances of a highly competitive season so far.
Superstock 1000 FIM Cup
After the most recent round at Portimao, way back in early July, Lorenzo Savadori (Kawasaki Team Pedercini) took the lead in the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup by four points, with only the Jerez and Magny Cours rounds remaining. A win in Spain would be a perfect outcome for Savadori this coming weekend and would bring his race winning total in 2014 up to three.
A great second place ride in Portugal last time out by Matthieu Lussiana (Kawasaki Team Garnier by Aspi) put him up to third in the championship fight. Assen Stock 1000 race winner Kevin Valk (MTM Racing Kawasaki) was overtaken in the rankings by both David McFadden (MRS Kawasaki) and Romain Lanusse (Team Pedercini Kawasaki) after the most recent race weekend. McFadden is now sixth, Lanusse seventh and Valk eighth on the eve of the Jerez round.
Superstock 600 European Championship
Marco Faccani (Kawasaki San Carlo Team Italia) stands on the threshold of the title in the Superstock 600 series, having won four races out of the five held so far on his Ninja ZX-6R. He has an impressive 34-point lead over his nearest rival with only two rounds, including Jerez, remaining.
Andrea Tucci, Faccani’s team-mate, remains fourth in the rankings entering the Jerez event, with one podium finish to his credit so far. Luca Salvadori (Team Ten Lap Racing Kawasaki) is sixth on his Ninja ZX-6R.
