SBK Evo Kawasaki Riders
David Salom (KRT SBK Evo) elected not to ride his Ninja ZX-10R in the two wet WSB races in France to protect his recently re-injured right hand and be ready to complete the season in style at the final round of the year in Qatar on November 2.
Salom still enjoys a strong 30-point lead in the Evo championship over his nearest rival Niccolo Canepa, and is 12th overall despite not riding at Magny Cours.
Jeremy Guarnoni (MRS Kawasaki) is third in the Evo rankings, scoring points in race one on Sunday thanks to his 12th place finish.
Legendary competitor Fabien Foret (Kawasaki Team Pedercini) was the final points scorer in race one in his native land but had an even better ride in race two to record an 11th place finish and be the only Kawasaki Evo rider to get to the end of a treacherously wet contest.
Bryan Staring (Iron Brain Kawasaki SBK Team) also secured points in race one but fell while in a strong position in race two. He was one of many riders to crash at turn seven on a highly slippery wet and cold track surface.
Sheridan Morais (Iron Brain Kawasaki SBK Team) was 17th in race one in France and is now 6th overall in Evo. Alessandro Andreozzi (Team Pedercini Kawasaki) retired in race one and was unable to start race two. He is seventh in the Evo rankings with one round to go in Qatar.
Superstock 1000 FIM Cup
Lorenzo Savadori (Kawasaki Team Pedercini) came within half a lap of winning the Superstock 1000 championship in the final round at Magny Cours but a fall dropped him from a strong second place to sixth in the final race classification.
After scoring two race wins earlier in the season Lorenzo missed out on the championship by only eight points. He was, however, a major player in making Kawasaki the Manufacturers’ Champion in this class with the Ninja ZX-10R.
Matthieu Lussiana (Kawasaki Team Garnier by Aspi) gave Kawasaki its final championship advantage by winning the Magny Cours race, his first in this category, in front of his enthusiastic home fans. It took him to an eventual third place in the championship overall.
A top Magny Cours display for another French rider, Romain Lanusse (Team Pedercini Kawasaki) saw him take his first podium of the season in second place, seven seconds behind Lussiana. Romain finished the year in fourth place in the rankings, meaning that three of the top four machines in this class were Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10Rs.
Regular Kawasaki competitor David McFadden (MRS Kawasaki), from South Africa, completed his season tenth overall.
Although the Superbike and Supersport championships will continue to a final round at Losail in Qatar in early November, this Magny Cours event was the final round for all the Superstock classes.
